Tell us a little bit about yourself.
I used to be a physics teacher, and one day I decided to change careers – I became a trader.
How long have you been trading?
I have been trading for 3 – 4 years.
Briefly describe your Trading Plan and how it contributes to your success.
I usually watch the market in the morning when I wake up, waiting for it to stabilize. I determine the trend on D1, H4, and H1, and find the entry point on M30. If the Asian session has strong momentum, I will enter; otherwise, I will wait for the US session.
Please share a challenge you faced in your trading career and how you overcame it.
There are many challenges I have overcome, but what I find most important is to accept stop-losses as inevitable, not be bitter, not take revenge, forget them, and know that new opportunities will come. I have practiced meditation to see that ego is the enemy of trading and try to leave my ego outside the trading room.
How did you adjust risk management to your trading personality?
I mainly trade gold. My approach is to set a stop-loss around 120–130 pips and adjust the volume accordingly—around 1% is okay. If I get stopped out, I watch the market to find another opportunity, maybe even right after, but I always monitor myself to make sure it’s not a revenge trade.
How long did it take for you to become a consistent trader, and what aspects did you change for that?
About two years after learning about trading—that is, about two years ago—I began to take it seriously. I’ve learned a lot from famous traders, from books, and from YouTube. My mindset has changed a lot compared to when I first entered the market. Back then, I thought it was an easy place to make money, with free time and no one managing me… but now I see that this market is really brutal. Discipline is what helps me survive, and money is what comes last. I believe I will continue to change as I encounter new experiences.
What is your mental/psychological strength and how did you develop it?
I have practiced meditation to see that ego is the enemy of every battle, including trading. I believe I have the ability to stop and observe myself to adjust my trading behavior and avoid the mistakes of greed, anger, and delusion.
What was your strategy to successfully passing The5ers’ First Level?
We have to take a little more risk, trade only the one pair we understand best.
How is trading for the5ers different from trading by yourself?
When trading for The5ers, I find myself more professional: having clear goals, strategies, discipline, and better self-control.
What would you recommend to someone who is just starting with us?
Be serious about your career and think long-term in trading. Don’t think you’ll get rich quickly just because you have funds.
