Tell us a little bit about you.

Hello, My name is Christ Alexandre Junior Youbangoye. I am Gabonese Congolese, and I have been living in Canada for several years now. I work in administrative management in the security department, and I am currently also a part-time trader, soon to be a full-time trader.

How long have you been trading?

I have been trading for over five years now. I took a year of learning in 2019 with demo accounts before officially launching with a real account in 2020.

Briefly describe your Trading Plan and how it contributes to your success.

My Trading Plan consists of establishing a system telling me, based on indicators, where to buy and where to sell while having tested this system over several years and different market conditions. Seeking that the risk-profit ratio of the latter is greater than 1, thus reassuring me of the profitability of the system.

Please share with us a challenge you faced in your trading career and how you overcame it.

In my trading career, one of the biggest challenges I have encountered is a problem that many traders also encounter, which is nothing other than the search for a profitable system. But I understood that testing your system and evaluating it according to the profit-risk ratio over a number of years gives you a general overview of your system, indicating whether it will be profitable or not. ( I know, I repeat myself on this one but It was a major key for me. So It was really important for me to notice this one.)

How did you adjust risk management to your trading personality?

For adjusting my risk management to my personality. I had to look at what percentage of risk I was willing to take, which would have allowed me to trade, putting my emotions aside and allowing me to trade more objectively. This is where I discovered also that I was more of a conservative trader rather than an aggressive trader.

Describe a key moment in your trading career.

One of the key moments in my trading career was when I made the switch from stock market trader to forex trader. I was anything but consistent, and all my research and all my work were not paying off. One day, I questioned myself and tried to find out what kind of strategy and system I would like to have, and by these criteria, I realized that the forex market was better for this kind of system than for me.

How long does it take to become a consistent trader, and what aspects did you change that helped you become consistent?

It only took me a few months before I became consistently profitable in the forex market. But I would like to point out that I suffered failure after failure when I traded in the stock market for 3 years.
In order for this to change, I literally had to change everything! And ensure that my PSR was good and effective.
By PSR, I mean Good psychology, good strategy, and good risk management.

What is your mental/psychological strength, and how did you develop it?

My psychological strength in trading comes from the fact that I know I’m bad at trading but not my strategy. So, I don’t believe in myself; I believe in my strategy.
I developed this mentality during my few years of failure in the stock market and my few months of frustration in the forex market. I realized that I couldn’t count on myself; I was too fickle, too emotional, too thoughtful.
I decided to base my belief on something more factual and to prove it; I decided to believe in the strategy that I tested and implemented.

What was your strategy to successfully pass The5ers’ evaluation?

My Strategy to successfully pass the first level of 5ers relies on a combination of multi timeframes which does not take into account minor changes in market direction but only major changes as well as the major direction in which the market is heading. It also relied mainly on a combination of market trend indicators in order to know where to buy and where to sell.

How is trading for The5ers different from trading by yourself?

The difference between trading for The5ers and trading for myself lies in risk management. I am so grateful that God put this prop firm in my path (yes, that’s what I believe.) because the policy towards risk management has made me a complete trader. This risk management policy (notably 5 percent) gave me the opportunity to work on how to limit my losses while gradually increasing my gains, creating a system with increasing profits growing with each trade and decreasing losses decreasing with each trade.

What would you recommend to someone who is just starting with us?

I recommend to those who have just started with The5ers and who, of course, want to succeed to check if their PSR is effective enough or worthy of their confidence before starting a challenge. Because if all these lights are green, they have every chance of succeeding.
When I talk about PSR, I talk about their Psychology, their Strategy, and their Risk management.

I can lie and say that I have had to read a lot of books on trading, and everyone would believe me because I have several summaries on paper of several books on trading and investing. But in reality, I am a student of YouTube.

have really helped me get to where I am today, and this is just the beginning. (PS: I thank them for their work).
