In this exclusive trader interview, we meet Can from Turkey—a $150K High Stakes funded trader at The5ers who has scaled his account twice and earned a total of $34,003 in payouts. Can’s journey is a masterclass in resilience: he started his career during the pandemic with borrowed savings, only to lose everything to liquidation in five minutes.

A few years later, a devastating earthquake destroyed his family’s home, but Can refused to quit. Today, he stands as one of The5ers’ top performers, proving that the right mindset can overcome any setback. At 24 years old and getting married this summer, he has turned trading into a life-changing career.

Throughout this trader interview, Can breaks down the specific Order Flow and Price Action strategy that powers his edge, the dynamic risk management system he uses across prop account stages, and the mental shifts that transformed him from a struggling beginner into a professional. If you want a roadmap from zero to funded — built by someone who earned it the hard way — read every word below.

Tell us about yourself.

My name is Can. On X, I go by PlanC. I am 24 years old and a final-year economics student in Turkey. I am a determined and ambitious person. I believe that hard work — directed wisely — pays off without exception. Six years in markets have only strengthened that conviction.

Describe your trading plan and how it drives your success.

I have been trading financial markets for six years. My first two years were raw. I was 19 with no prior knowledge, building foundations from scratch. I spent four years learning, testing, and blending ideas until I found a style that fits me. The last two years delivered results I am genuinely proud of.

My strategy is built on Order Flow combined with Price Action. The core principle is simple: follow the price flow and never fight it. Traders who swim against the current — no matter how skilled — eventually drown. That is one of the most expensive lessons I have learned.

My process has three steps. First, I analyse the internal structure and HTF flows to establish a directional bias. Second, I identify the correct swing areas. Third, I target liquidity and enter with precise risk. That is the complete system.

What was your biggest trading challenge?

My story started during COVID-19. I had a government scholarship for university students. I saved that money for months, then discovered financial markets online. I started with spot crypto. The market was volatile, and I made decent profits quickly. That confidence pushed me into leveraged futures. My first futures trade wiped me out completely. I was liquidated in under five minutes. Every dollar I had saved was gone.

That moment forced the most important realisation of my career: this business requires a specific system and strategy — not luck and confidence. I worked as a waiter in restaurants and markets. I saved again and returned to the markets. The small strategies I built during that period are the foundation of what I trade today.

How do you manage risk across different account stages?

Risk management is the strictest rule in trading. Every trader runs their own system. Mine is dynamic. In a first-stage prop account, I keep risk at around 1.5%. In the second stage, it drops to 1%. In a funded account, it sits between 0.75% and 1%. I am a high-win-rate trader. My average win rate runs between 55% and 70% — a skill that took six years to develop.

In earlier years, that number was closer to 20–40%. My current system is built to minimise losses while maximising gains on winning trades. I do not chase extreme profits or take excessive risks. My goal is cumulative, stable growth. That philosophy has not changed since I turned consistent.

Describe a key moment in your trading career.

One memory stands out more than most — and it involves a car dealership. My budget at the time was around $17,000. I am a Mercedes fan, but my budget did not stretch that far. I walked into the dealership, saw the one car I wanted, and left without it. I made a promise to myself that day. I went home, built a trading plan around a $5,000 challenge, and set rules: if I lost it, I’d buy a cheap commuter car. If I won, I’d get what I wanted.

One day, a single Bitcoin long trade returned $10,000. The next day, another trade cost me $7,500. I walked back into that dealership, handed over the money without negotiating, and drove out in my car. It was the first time I felt the direct connection between trading discipline and real-world outcomes. That feeling is hard to explain.

How long did it take to become a consistent trader?

Almost four years. That is the honest answer. I made most of my income through proprietary trading firms during that period. The structure they provide — defined rules, fixed drawdowns, clear targets — accelerated my development. Any trader with a solid strategy and strict risk management can be successful. The prop model removes capital barriers and forces discipline. That combination works.

What is your psychological strength, and how did you develop it?

In 2023, Turkey suffered a devastating earthquake. I lost relatives. My family’s home was destroyed. We lived in a tent. Before that disaster, I was a student trying to survive. After it, I had one goal: to move my family somewhere safe. You have to fear someone who has nothing left to lose. That is the mindset I carried into every trade during that period. I discovered the prop trading industry around that time. The payments I earned funded a new home for my family. That was my first tangible proof that this career path was real.

My girlfriend played an equal role in my psychological development. When I stopped believing in myself, she did not. She told me to relax and trusted the process. We are getting married this summer. Thanks to The5ers payments, I am now building our home.

What was your strategy to pass The5ers Level 1?

Strict risk management and an accurate read of market direction. I never allow myself to trade against the price flow. That principle is the foundation of my strategy and my discipline. The challenge tests both your system and your psychology. Trading rules you already know under real account conditions reveal where your weaknesses actually are.

How does it feel to trade with The5ers?

I am completely satisfied. The5ers is one of the best companies in this space — and that is not just my opinion. Low spreads. Low commissions. Balance-based account structure. No hidden rules. Consistent, reliable payouts. They do not ban traders from the platform for arbitrary reasons. That matters more than most traders realise until they experience the alternative. For any trader looking for a serious prop firm, this is where I would point them.

Which resources shaped your trading journey?

My education came primarily from free YouTube content focused on Price Action and Order Flow. The information is available to anyone willing to invest the time. I received targeted mentorship from a few experienced traders who helped me sharpen specific areas of my existing system. That combination — self-study plus focused mentorship — is what I would recommend to any developing trader. My sincere thanks to Captain Koray, whose support made a genuine difference on this journey.
