Tell us a little bit about yourself.

Hi, I’m KK from Malaysia. I have been in forex trading for more than 15 years. When I started trading, there weren’t any prop firms, and I traded a personal account with brokers. I paid for and attended two technical analysis courses but ended up losing money. Then I gave up forex trading for a couple of years, and later came back again. Same process—I ended up losing money again and stopped. This is my third time coming back. I found out about prop firms and went into it instead of trading with my own broker. This is because I can trade with bigger capital, and I started to learn more about technical analysis, doing backtesting, and so on.

How long have you been trading?

I have been trading for 10 years.

Briefly describe your Trading Plan and how it contributes to your success.

Risk no more than 2 percent per trade and per day. Ideally, risk only 1 percent per day. That way, in the event of a losing streak for a week, you can still manage to recover the drawdown and avoid taking big risks on a single trade.

Share with us a challenge you faced in your trading career and how you overcame it?

Emotions and psychology in trading, revenge trading, poor risk management, and overtrading.

How did you adjust risk management to your trading personality?

Reduce lot size. Protect capital first. Don’t be greedy. Forex trading is a game of probabilities.

How long does it take to become a consistent trader, and what aspects did you change that helped you become consistent?

It took me more than a year to become a consistent trader recently. Have a trading plan, set a maximum loss per day, take good setup entries, and be disciplined and patient. Risk management is the key that helped me survive a one-week losing streak.

What is your mental/psychological strength, and how did you develop it?

My strongest psychological strength is resilience. I’ve failed many prop firm challenges and lost personal funds, but I never gave up. Each failure taught me more about my weaknesses — especially overtrading and impatience. I developed resilience by journaling every trade, reviewing my mistakes honestly, and reminding myself of my long-term goal. Now, I approach the markets with more humility, focus, and emotional stability.

What was your strategy to successfully pass The5ers’ evaluation?

Reduce lot size, be patient to wait for a setup or set a pending order. Scale in with half the size of the first trade lot if I see a trend forming, like a candlestick respecting my EMA. Move the SL to breakeven or lock in some profit before scaling in.
