Tell us a little bit about you. My name is Alejandro Valverde, I’m from Córdoba, Spain. As soon as I turned 18, I opened my first Real account. From the very first moment, I was passionate about this world, and I committed to becoming the best in this field. I left university a year later and founded, in 2016, www.Tradetoday.co, a copy trading company. Since then, this journey has been filled with both amazing and awful moments and experiences, thanks to which I became who I am now: a young 24-year-old man who has surrounded himself with great professionals to assemble the best team of Traders.
How long have you been trading?
7 Years, full-time trader.
Briefly describe your Trading Plan and how it contributes to your success. Day Trading System objective and manual technical with 1/2% risk per trade, where we expect quality before quantity and seek manipulation and release of the market with fundamental news.
Share with us a challenge you faced in your trading career and how you overcame it? When I was 21, I already had more than 100 investors, and on Tuesday, December 4, 2018, I lost more than $ 150,000 on a single day. It was a very hard blow that took me more than 6 months to recover psychologically from.
In July 2019, I was recovered and fully determined again and started a great positive streak that made me stay with 14 positive months and only 3 negative ones since then to December 2020.
How did you adjust risk management to your trading personality? For me, it was key to start trading in a percentage way. I don’t like to trade for fixed lotage at all. I realized that I was doing much better if I had extremely controlled risk management in percentage and taking into account the ratios, drawdowns, and % success of the strategies. I consider risk management to be extremely important in trading.
Describe a key moment in your trading career. After my decline in 2018, discussed above, I will never forget a trip I made in May 2019 alone to Barcelona, Spain. There I met 2 traders who totally changed my vision and extremely motivated me. It was a before and after focus on doing things right and in the long run.
How long it took for you to become a consistent trader, and what aspects did you change that helped you to become consistent? It took me around 3 years, and the key was to get together with people who were really good and professional in this business. This, together with devoting 100% of my time to trading, made me improve faster and especially stop circling in the novice trader cycle.
What is your mental/psychological strength, and how did you develop it? I try to restart myself mentally every week, regardless of what happened in the previous one. I also improve psychologically with a professional and chatting with my peers. It is also good to meditate regularly.
What was your strategy to successfully passing The5%ers’ First Level? I used my Rocket strategy, which tries to wait for the market to build up and release and start coming in when the release with fundamental news is near.
How is trading for the5ers different from trading by yourself? In my personal account, I divide the accounts into different risks, some more aggressive and others more conservative. The5ers for me is a future investment. I do conservative trading with the aim of achieving the largest capital investment in my account in order to get good returns on both sides.
